tkman55 :

Hi let me see if I can help you.

tkman55 :

i see you are not online at the moment. Here is a resource that should help you figure out how to hook up a trianary switch.

tkman55 :

http://www.evercohd.com/images/tech_tips/EVHD_Trinary_Switches.pdf

tkman55 :

Let me kn ow if you have any other questions.

tkman55 :

are you there

Customer :
Customer :

i found that earlier when online and tried it but fan isn't cuttin in and out when high pressure rises

Customer :

replaced trinary switch and also bought new ac termoswitch

tkman55 :

I take it thw ac will work but you have no fan control

Customer :
Customer :

i got it to work by bypassing and making power directly to compressor

Customer :
tkman55 :

ok do you have gauges on the system

Customer :

i had a switch on the dash that would engage fan when head pressure was up than disenage when down and also you could flip on full time if needed

Customer :

system is fully charged and as long as i keep fan engaged full time head pressure remains low

tkman55 :

are you getting cold air out of your vents

Customer :

yes system is working but now i have to wire in a toggle switch so the fan engages and disengages when head pressure rises

tkman55 :

was there a trinary swich in the system or just a pressure switch

Customer :

the driver i had on the truck cut the wires out (for something to do) cause he thought he was smarter than peterbilt on electrical system

Customer :

system has a 4 sspade trinary switch always

tkman55 :

i see if it had a trinary switch you could check volts at the switch. by leaving the fan off you should be able to check for the output when the head pressure is to hi. then you can wire your existing fan switch into that spade connection to get the fan iworking on hi pressure

Customer :

so if i understand - switch - 1 wire to make it hot than one wire from the switch to the #3 term on trinary

Customer :

than the wire from trinary switch to fan clutch

Customer :

also #3

tkman55 :

if that is the hi pressure connection then yes. my diagram shows the following

tkman55 :

black wire power to compressor black/white to ac thermostat yellow to fan organe or red to power

tkman55 :

orange or red to power

Customer :

can you draw a diagram showing how to wire in toggle switch to trinary switch so fan will engage when needed and also i can flip toggle on if need to engage fan full time

tkman55 :

yes give me a little time

Customer :
Customer :

thankyou. this way i can wire this up and get back on the road today is a cool 106 outside

Customer :

would it be easier for you to scan and send to my email

tkman55 :

give me your email and i will send it to you
