I am a 30-year-old female. Though overweight, I have no major medical problems with the exception of hypertension, which is controlled with 300 mg of Labetalol 2x/day. I have to admit that I am somewhat paranoid about developing a DVT...my husband has Factor V Leiden, so I know how dangerous they can be. I do not have a history of blood clots. However, I lead a pretty sedentary lifestyle. I have a three month old daughter and am exclusively breastfeeding, so I do spend quite a bit of time sitting in a recliner and feeding her. One week ago, my husband and I took a six hour car trip. We made a couple of stops, and I pumped my ankles several times in the car as well to help avoid DVT. However, I did take a couple of naps in the car. The morning after we returned, I was flexing my toes (to check for pain, ironically) and had no problems. However, I have since noticed a pins-and-needles sensation in my whole left leg. I have been very aware of my left leg this whole week and have experienced a variety of different aches and pains. Specifically, my knee seems to feel achy, as though I tweaked it, as does my hip and shin bone. At times, it feels like the pain radiates from the small of my back into my leg, but at other times it seems to be coming from the leg only. The pain comes and goes and seems to switch places, including from front to back of leg. What concerns me most is that I feel at times like I have a small cramp about two inches below my knee in the back of my calf, as well as small muscle twitches/flutters in that same area. The cramping pain lasts for only a few seconds at a time and is not significant, but it makes me very concerned that this could be a DVT. I have no difficulty walking. I do not see any redness or notice any warmth on the affected leg. I do not believe there is any swelling, or at least any size difference between the legs is minimal. I can easily flex my toes, though this may cause a little muscle twitch. I also feel like I have a little cramp/tightening in the front of my upper left thigh, though to be fair, this could be because I've raised my leg so much to look at it!
I take a progestin-only form of oral contraceptives and have never smoked. My platelet count did come back slightly elevated a couple of weeks ago (463 K/uL) but was told this was nothing to be concerned about and is very expected for someone who gave birth three months ago. Does this sound like DVT or do I not need to worry unless I have swelling, redness, and warmth? Could these symptoms be caused by something else (such as sciatica or even anxiety)? I can send a picture of my legs in case it is helpful. Thank you!
I just experienced a burning sharp pain behind left eye socket, felt like it traveled down to lips, my lips went numb and then right hand fingers have been tingling. Lasted under 10 mins fingers are almost back to normal. No anxiety prior, during or after this episode. 25 year old female. Took celexa last night 24hrs ago (to treat panic disorder) for the first time and probably last. Had the worst anxiety of my life this morning. Taking 3-5 xanax a month without problems, the celexa was the eventually replace it.
