Customer Question

Hi it all started back in March of last year I started having diarrhea and other things and was convinced I had colon cancer. Then I started having pain under my right rib and back and was convinced I had pancreatic cancer. I have really bad OCD/anxiety I started taking medicine and had no symptoms for over 6 months. Then a few days ago I had diarrhea and freaked out and the back pain started again. I have been to my doctor twice prior and he did blood work and assured me that I don't have pancreatic cancer. My amalaze and lypaze were both normal. No I am worried again if I have early signs of pancreatic cancer.
JA: How long have you been dealing with this? Is there anything in particular that seems to make the symptoms better or worse?
Customer: No foods make it worse I am just freaked out about it all
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: No I am healthy otherwise

Hello,

Myself Dr Josh- and I’m happy to help with your question today.

Well, first of all I would make clear that your symptoms are not related with pancreatic cancer.

No need to get panic and please be relaxed.

I understand that you have diarrhea and back pain.

It can be related with Irritable bowel syndrome.

Severe emotional stress/ anxiety issue would also cause such symptoms.

I am pretty sure, that you don't have any cancer.

Hope this helped

I would like to add some more information-

You can treat such symptoms with healthy and balanced diet.

You need to take Psyllium, it is a natural vegetable fiber.
Sometime milk products worsen the condition, if you have any symptoms from them, then avoid it.
Also stress aggravate it, so practice yoga and meditation. Also you need to go for breathing exercises, for relaxation. Avoid anxiety and stress.

You should avoid processed foods. These may contain 'resistant starch' which is difficult for your body to digest. You should Cut down on foods rich in insoluble fiber, such as wholemeal bread, wholegrain rice and cereals containing bran.

You should avoid foods such as beans, cabbage, or uncooked cauliflower or broccoli.

Also Getting regular, vigorous exercises, will make bowel movements regular.Sometimes doctor prescribe - Anti anxiety or anti -depressants drugs, These can also cure the symptoms.
Proper dietary control should be done.

Best bet it - get your diet schedule managed from dietitian.

God bless you and take care.
