Customer Question

I was hit in the side of my calf/shin last week. A large bump appeared immediately and was black and blue the next day, all the way down to my foot. The bruising is mostly gone, but he lump is still there and hurts like all! I am feeling nauseous and had a bad headache this morning, if that means anything.
JA: Is the headache episodic or daily? And what about nausea?
Customer: jyst started this morning
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: Not really ...

Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

The lump is likely a hematoma from collection of blood. The injured blood vessels leak blood collecting in the pocket. This pooled blood can get infected sometimes. Infection can cause headaches, nausea. Hence, you will need to see your doctor for clinical evaluation. Infection will require antibiotic course and drainage of the lump.
Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
