Have Medical Questions? Ask a Doctor Online!
Hi there, give me a moment to review your question!
Unfortunately, you wont know until a pathologist reviews the fluid. Once the pathologist reviews it, he will give a diagnosis. This could take about a week, however.
You should have a preliminary diagnosis or a general idea of what the fluid is within 24 hours, but it could take about a week for a formal diagnosis.
