Hello from JustAnswer. This is Dr. Love and I will be assisting you today.
What dose did you take before that was effective?
Yes, I am here and typing, and it is fine to continue communicating by text, but it takes some time to type an answer. I will post it once it is complete.
The 80 mg daily dose is a very high dose of Celexa, which was probably told to you before.
When someone has taken higher doses of Celexa in the past, it is not recommended to resume the drug at the higher dose. It is recommended to start the Celexa at 20 mg daily, and then can be increased each week in increments of 20 mg daily until the desired dose is reached. Starting at a high dose or increasing too quickly has a greater risk fo side effects, and particularly an adverse effect on heart rhythm conduction.
So, the usual approach would be to resume the Celexa at 20 mg daily, and then increase each week by an additional 20 mg per day until the desired dose is reached.
If I can provide any additional information, please let me know.
You are most welcome.
