My doctor passed away about 5 or 6 years ago however I nevere got my medical records how do I obtain those records if the practice in no longer there

If the practice is closed you can inquire with the state medical department and see if any records were sent to the state for storage.

If a doctor dies or stops working medical records have to be kept for 10 years.

Sometimes these are sent to private companies for storage so you would need to inquire with the city/state medical board first and then you could also inquire from local offices who may have known that doctor to see if they know what that office may have done with the records.
