Customer Question

I am 89 years old, 74 years diabetic insulin dependent and have lost about 4 inches in height over the years.
I seem to do a lot of belching. Every once in awhile I go a couple of days free of it, than it is back. Could the loss of height have anything to do with it?
Can you possibly help me.

Can this belching of gas increase blood pressure also?
Expert:  Anthony Bray, MD replied 7 months ago.

The loss in height is most likely related to osteoporosis..

I would recommend That you have a bone density study...

Checking your blood calcium and vitamin D would be helpful...

If you have osteoporosis then discuss treatment options with your doctor

The belching sounds to be more of stomach irritation ..gastritis likely ..

You might benefit to try over the counter ZANTAC

I hope that this information is helpful for you

I have always been careful with weight gain and have never been a big eater.

The issues are not related -- belching...blood pressure ..height loss -- separate issues
