Hello this is Dr. Salama MD,

I would advise you to use Neosporin ointment 3 times daily and hydrocortisone 1% twice daily for 5-7 days.

Both are available over the counter.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

If not, please don't forget to leave a positive rating as that's the only way I get credit for answering your question.

Thank you!

what may have caused this blister as I have had two previously but they were very small on my other ankle?
Expert:  Michael Salama replied 6 months ago.

Occasionally insect bites can develop into a minor skin infection which develops into a blister.

That's the reason for the neosporin antibiotic ointment.
