This is Dr. David

yes, this sounds like most likely food poisoning,

virus or bacteria in the food can cause this.

next time, you don't have to vomit or purge your foot.

I'm glad you are feeling better.

the shivering can be from you inducing vomiting or from bad diarrhea.

make sure you drink plenty of water and get some electrolytes into your system.

you can take Imodium or pepto bismal as well if you continue to have upset stomach or diarrhea symptoms

if your symptoms don't get better, do see your doctor for an examination

I doubt this is from food poisoning

The shivering would be rare

I recommend you go in now for an examination

it could be something else

like a sick gall bladder

Hello

Gallbladder disease typically causes pain in the right upper abdomen.

It happens mostly with fatty foods.

It typically would be due to gallstones, and would not cause vomiting and shivering after one type of food, one episode, without pain and then gone.

Shivering is a non specific symptom, and can be stimulated by vomiting itself.

Check your temperature: it can be stimulated by fever: which would been infection, from food borne illness or other causes.

I am a double board certified US doctor.

I suggest that if this continues you see your doctor immediately.

If not, at least let him/her know about this.

Gastritis, ulcer, stomach outlet problems, all are possible.
