I had drug screen and I take oxycodone. The doctor verified

Customer Question

I had drug screen and I take oxycodone. The doctor verified my prescription and circled negative on the results, but then he put a note on the bottom stating that my test was negative because i have a prescription for oxycodone. He has done 3 tests on me in 5 years and everytime he has wrote negative, never before has he wrote any comment. Is it legal for him to do this

Thanks for this question

Can you explain your situation more clearly?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
is it illegal for a doctor to tell your employer what prescription medicine you are on after verifying your prescription with your doctor when they did a drug test on you
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 4 months ago.

Yes, that is illegal.

They cannot tell your employer any medical history unless you disclose it yourself

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Okay, because my employer sent me for a drug screen and the doctor verified with my dogtor my prescription medicine. Then the dr. sent the result back to my employer with negative circled. He then put a remark on the bottom of the page that it was negative because I have a prescription for oxycodone. I didn't believe that it was legal for him to do that.

Now I am trying to find lawyer to sue the doctor.
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 4 months ago.

It is not your doctor's duty to write that on the screen

I agree with you
