Customer Question

hello, my son is two. Over the last year hes has MRSA, Bacterial Pneumonia, and RSV. Hes had MRSA 4 times now.. in the last 1.5 month hes had MRSA, hand foot mouth, and now shingles. Is this just bad luck, or should we be looking for an autoimmune disease?

Hi and welcome.

Repeated infections are most likely due to decrease in immunity to fight against infections in the body. So yes, he needs full evaluation including baseline blood tests along with bone marrow biopsy and tests for autoimmune diseases so that any disease decreasing his immunity can be diagnosed and treated so that these infections can be prevented.
