Thank you for your question.

You should put firm pressure on the bleeding area for at least 15-20 minutes. Have someone help you with it.

If your bleeding continues you must be seen in the emergency.

Hi,

I'm Dr Chaithanya attending you

These are the steps to follow in order

1. Wash your hands with soap and water

2. Wear medical gloves, Hold the tongue with a clean cloth and apply pressure for 15 minutes constantly

3. Sit down and tilt your head forward and bend your chin down

4. Mild bleeding will stop after constant pressure of 15min and it will stop oozing completely in an hr

If bleeding is heavy, no other alternative except to go to Hospital

Hope this helps

Greetings

  • Firm pressure until bleeding is stopped is acceptable maneuver but do not lean forward. This will increase the bleeding by increasing the pressure. That maneuver is suitable for nasal bleed
  • BETTER, keep ice cubes in your mouth, right on the bleeder, and replace them as they dissolve until bleeding stops. The ice-cold temperature constricts the bleeding vessels and stops the bleeding
  • Unfortunately, there is not a reversal drug for Eliquise effect in the market yet. It will be available in August. So, you have to be extra careful not to cut your self.

Let me know if you have any further questions. Best wishes

I am sure your bleeding has stopped by now. Should it happens again, the above maneuver is advised
