  • First be sure that the hemorrhoid is the source of bleeding. Other sources could be serious and require immediate medical attention
  • Easing the pain and irritation will prevent straining and worsening of the bleed. There are numerous OTC meds that can help with that.
  • Warm water soak for 20-30 min, 3 times daily for 2-3 days.
  • If you sill notice bleeding after 3-4 days, you need to be checked out by hour family doctor
  • Target the source, the hemorrhoid to prevent future bleed. This would include high fiber diet, dink enough fluid, regular BM habits, and exercise
  • If these measures fail, there is always the surgical options
