a bruise under the tongue can be from a ruptured vein under the tongue.
if you are on blood thinners such as aspirin or plavix or warfarin or coumadin, this can cause you to bleed and bruise easier.
if you bit your tongue by accident while eating, this can cause a bruise under your tongue.
sucking on ice cubes can help ice the area and help decrease swelling from the bruise

so it is hard for me to examine you and tell you what is going on in your mouth which you think is a bruise
you have many different salivary glands in your mouth.
you have parotid glands in front of both ears
you have submandibular glands on each side of the floor of the mouth below your tongue.
you have many normal veins on the floor of your mouth below your tongue
just because you see some blue veins under your tongue and on your floor of your mouth doesn't mean that is a bruise.
do you have tenderness or a mass under your tongue?
