Do you use any nasal sprays?

Expert:  Dr Stan replied 1 year ago.

Hi this is Dr Stan and I will assist you today. Nose bleeds can be a very annoying problem. Dry air and nose picking are the two most common causes. Common colds, allergies, frequent use of nose sprays (except saline nasal spray) are also causes.

I am on Plavix but this issue predates the plavix by several years. This issue has ben goinjhg on for over 30 yers but has gotten worse in the past 5. My issue is that when I blow my nose and a big glob comes out into my handkerchief and I m in a place where I can not hide the blood as best I try and others get up set.

Try using a nasal saline nose spray during the day and a humidifier during the night. Keeping the mucous lining of your nose moist will help minimize the bleeding. If you haven't already been seen by a ENT doctor please do so. You may have a polyp in your nose which could be causing the bleeding.
