Asthma years: weeks I've had congested chest, mucous,

Customer Question

asthma for 45 years: for 5 weeks I've had congested chest, mucous, coughing, nebulizer breathing treatments 2-3 times per day for 4 weeks; 2 series of tapered off steroids (prednisone pills) and a steroid shot; and yet it's not getting better. What else could be wrong?

I hope you don't smoke.

have you had a chest CT scan and pulmonary function testing and a bronchoscopy to look inside of your lungs

you might need a bronchoscopy and biopsy of your airways to check for lung disease like emphysema, and interstitial pneumonitis
