I have not had a solid stool in months. Just brown water and an occasional semi solid mass. Now the doctor says I have low sodium. Is there a corollation?

Low sodium can be related to your bowel problem.

Hypothyroidism or thyroid gland disorder, adrenal insufficiency can cause low sodium as well as bowel problem.

Now they can be unrelated as well in most cases.

Lack of solid stool suggests likely malabsorption problem from your intestine causing excess sodium loss.

Hence a colonoscopy is also recommended to check for intestinal problem like inflammation, polyp, tumor etc.
