I've been awakened twice by what sounds like pile-drivers on

Customer Question

I've been awakened twice by what sounds like pile-drivers on a construction site.....but I think it's really my own heart beat. Is this a high blood pressure warning?

Thanks for this question.

I'm very sorry about this.

It could be a heart arrhythmia

At your age, heart arrhythmias are very common and often present like this.

I would do the following

1)See your doctor and tell the history

2)ask for a blood count, thyroid and overall physical check

3)get a holter monitor. This is the most important. It is a 24 hour heart monitor you wear at home
