Customer Question

I am a 43 year old male, I drink alcohol on a regular basis, don't overdrink.
About six weeks ago I did the Oxy-Powder Cleanse followed by two colonic irrigations. Now when I drink alcohol my skin smells like fecal matter and it's the same smell the next day when using the bathroom.

This is Dr. David

you should not do powder cleanses and colonic irrigations

these do not help your bowels or improve your health.

you should take a probiotic daily to help add good bacteria into your bowels.

also you should irrigate out your sinuses with saline or a NettyPot

your colonics most likely caused diarrhea and bad odor to get into your nose and sinuses and the odor could still be in there which can affect your sense of smell

irritating out your sinuses with normal saline can help with this.

you should talk to your doctor about how to cut down and quit alcohol use to help protect your liver and stomach

you should also get checked for H Pylori infection in your stomach which can produce gas and odor as well

Hello

What accounts for smells on the skin is the type of bacteria on the skin.

Things you have smelt do not get trapped in your nostrils and cause chronic smell problems.

Foul smelling skin can also indicate liver, kidney disease or diabetes.

You need to see your doctor to rule out these problems.

Over the counter products can have substances which affect the smell of the breath an skin, in some cases. However, this should stop once you stop the product.

If no one else smells this besides you, then seizure disorders and tumors can cause fictitious smells, and this is more reason to see an internal medicine doctor, such as myself.
