Customer Question

My son has had 3 instances of bleeding from the ear...not just drops but quite a bit . He's in college and away from home, no pain but but enough blood to fill his hand. As a child he had 4 sets of tubes, as a teen and young adult seizure syndrome. He's on meds, vimpat, and keppra. Doing a lot of reading, studying leaning on the ear. He said he's going to the Dr. but I think ER would be best...worried Mom Thanks

This is Dr. David

yes, ER would be a good idea.

he needs a doctor to look in his ears to check for infection and where it might be, inner ear or ear canal.

he might need a course of antibiotics or antibiotic ear drops.

inner ear infections are easy for him given his history of tubes
