I am a 53 year old male and have been a heavy beer drinker

Customer Question

I am a 53 year old male and have been a heavy beer drinker for 30 years. A recent blood test revealed liver scores of AST 57 and ALK Phosophate 107. Other liver results were in acceptable range. Obviously I will cut back on the beer but prefer not to stop entirely unless absolutely necessary. How worried should I be with these numbers? Can they be improved with less beer or must I stop entirely?
Thanks

How heavy is heavy?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
about a case and a half a week. I know that is a ridiculous amount but am hoping I can still drink some beer as my activities (golf, dinners out etc) make it ever present and I do enjoy it.

Thats way too much. I think you should get an ultrasound to assess liver damage

You can't tell alot just from the liver tests
