Dear customer,

Thanks for your question.

Yes this is concerning. Why was the test done? What medical conditions does your family member suffer from? Does he take any medications daily?

Hi there,

This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.

I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

This level suggests very mild level of protein leakage from the kidneys.

Can be early onset kidney disease.

Diabetes, hypertension are common causes--should be checked.

Physical exertion, high protein diet also can cause this --which will be harmless cause.

But do see a doctor for checking diabetes, hypertension.

No medications the only issues prior to this test he is being little high always in bp readings around 135/90 to 140/95 and he drinks beer on regular basis like 6 beers cans every day and about 10 beers on a Saturday other than that can this be the main reason of this new issue?

Expert:  Dr Basu replied 1 year ago.

Alcohol can cause kidney injury.

Also high blood pressure is another issue here.

He should be on ACE inhibitor like lisinopril 10 mg daily to prevent any protein leakage, protect the kidneys against any further damage, and also control his blood pressure well.

He should also limit alcohol consumption.
