This is Dr. David

he could have a recurrent cyst in front of his ear

or this could be due to recurrent salivary duct stones which can block the saliva gland and cause swelling of the parotid gland which needs to be lanced.

ask for an ultarsound of the area if it swells up again to see what is swelling up

he might need a biopsy of the area.

is it the parotid gland which is swelling up and being lanced?

has he had a biospy of the area?

what does his ultrasound show in the area?
