This is Dr. David

homocysteine is an amino acid

it is not possible to get homocysteine from your diet, it must be made from methionine, another amino acid that is found in meat, fish, and dairy products

elevated homocysteine levels have been associated with heart attacks, strokes, and blood clot formation

treatment with vitamin supplementation with pyridoxine (vitamin B6), vitamin B12, and folic acid can help lower homocysteine

vitamin therapy should be monitored by routine, scheduled blood tests

make sure to limit vitamin B6 to 100mg a day
