This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.
AST and ALT levels by themselves cannot predict cirrhosis certainly.
They just show you have some degree of liver disease.
Cirrhosis is only sen in a liver scan --fibroscan or a CT or MRI scan.
Hence, that should be the next step a liver scan.
AST and ALT levels in your case are considered mild elevation.
They can be elevated due to the fatty liver if you are overweight or diabetic.
Chronic hepatitis C or B can also cause this sometimes.
Hence, they should be checked as well.
Usually a healthy diet, exercise, and losing weight will help a lot in normalizing the liver tests over time.
Please eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables, especially dark green leafy vegetables and orange, yellow, purple and red colored fruits and vegetables. They have natural antiseptic and anticancer properties. Tomatoes, Beetroots and broccolis are very good for liver and also offer protection against cancer.
It was my pleasure to help you today.
