I have a 10 yo daughter who complains every time she eats

Customer Question

I have a 10 yo daughter who complains every time she eats about her stomach hurtING and when asked if she needs to use the bathroom she says no. Tonight, we were eating out and she said that her stomach began to hurt and that she was nauseous as well. We came home and I immediately thought to test her blood sugar. She is not diabetic but I keep a meter on hand. Her sugar came back at 95. I have no baseline to compare it to. My question is, what could be causing this and is it severe enough to warrant a trip to the ER?

The sugar is normal.

If the symptoms have resolved, then her doctor tomorrow.

If not, then urgent care or the ER.

If the pain is lower right, ER.

Antacids should not be given without a diagnosis.

It could be as simple as irritable bowel....

OK, so that is an initial answer….
