This is Dr. David

I think there was some incorrect auto-correction in your question.

500mg of what? flagyl 500mg?

yes, you can take 500mg of flagyl along with amoxicillin before a dental exam.

let me know if I answered the right question for you or not.

Hello

I see nothing in your question to indicate a need for antibiotics.

A dental exam does not require prophylaxis.

A dirty procedure requires it only if you have a reason that you might get infective endocarditis, and that does not include a lot of the old criterial

Or, if you have a joint prosthesis that might become infected.

Here are the guidelines.

If you don't meet these guidelines and it is not a gum manipulating or other dirty procedure...you don't need antibiotics.

In addition, there is no specific reason to add flagyl.
