I have always had bad GI problems, starting about 6 years

Customer Question

Hi there, I have always had bad GI problems, starting about 6 years ago with blood in my stool. It was bright red blood at the end of the stool. Since then, I have never had a fully formed stool. They are always loose. I go through periods of weight loss,
but then usually gain the weight back again. 6 years ago I had a colonscopy and CT can of the abdomen, both came back completely normal. ( with the exception of a a cyst on my pelvis, which I was told not to worry about). I am a 30 year old male, who tries
to be active, but have been pretty exhausted, i am assuming because of what is happening in the GI tract. My question is, I still continue to have GI problems from 6 years ago, but recently I have been having more bright red blood, either on top of stool at
the end, or usually on the toilet paper. I also am having bloating and constant rumbling/gurgling in my abdomen and around my pelvic/anal area. My celiac biopsy was normal. I didn't like going for a colonscopy 6 years ago, so would prefer to not do it again.
Any idea what this could be? I would appreciate a response from a gastroenteroligst.

Hi

What was your diagnosis for the blood

Hemhorroids?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I was given no answer. I'm guessing they found no hemmroids during the colonosxopy

What did they find on colonoscopy?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
They said they found nothing abnormal. I found that very strange, as something would be causing the bleeding
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 1 year ago.

They might easily have missed an av malformation or angiodysplasia.

Bleeding from abnormal blood vessels, which bleed and stop.

Ask for a red cell scan, which is a non invasive test.

Sometimes it will show bleeding.

Ok thank you, ***** ***** ask them about this scan.
Last question. How long would it take for a new polyp to develop? Seeing as how they didn't find any on my last colonoscopy, would it be possible that one has formed in 6 years, at my age? (30 yrs old)

NO, very , very unlikely
