Customer Question

My trazadone stopped working for sleep after 9 months. Is it best to take a drug holiday for a while? I also take klonopin at night for jaw clenching. I was on ambien for five years. It stopped working last summer. Would it work again after so long? Would it be ok to switch back and forth periodically between the trazadone and ambien to keep tolerance levels low? Would 5-Http help me sleep better

yes, drug holidays can help prior medications which worked for you before to work again.

your body can build tolerance to certain medications so they stop working well.

you should talk to your doctor about going back on ambien to see if that helps.

taking 5-HTP is unknown to be able to help you sleep better

if you have a history of poor sleep, you should see a sleep specialist and get a full sleep evaluation.

increasing regular exercise can help you sleep better.

have you tried a bite guard at night time if you are grinding your teeth?
