The AB parent will donate an A or B. This makes an O child impossible. The child will be A or B
The O parent will donate what is called an I gene. So the child will be Ai (which is type A) or Bi (which is type B)
The childgets one gene from each parent. The combination determines blood type. To be O you need an I from each parent. So O people are iI.
So clearly the child can't be O because he is getting an A or B from one parent
