Customer Question

Hi and thanks for the query.

Yes, it is possible to have O Negative blood group when the parents are O positive and AB negative.

Please do leave a positive rating for the service.

Best.

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 1 year ago.

The expert is not correct. It is impossible

The AB parent will donate an A or B. This makes an O child impossible. The child will be A or B

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 1 year ago.

The O parent will donate what is called an I gene. So the child will be Ai (which is type A) or Bi (which is type B)

The childgets one gene from each parent. The combination determines blood type. To be O you need an I from each parent. So O people are iI.

So clearly the child can't be O because he is getting an A or B from one parent

please don't forget a positive rating. I appreciate it. If you have more questions, just reply
