If this is spreading then this does warrant further evaluation.
Bleeding from the skin capillaries is the common cause.
Blood thinning medications like aspirin, coumadin cause this commonly.
Low platelet count, chronic liver and kidney diseases,vitamin C and K deficiency, clotting factor deficiencies are other possible causes.
Von Willebrand factor deficiency is a common disorder causing spontaneous bruises.
Gets triggered by the aspirin, analgesics ( except tylenol), fish oil, vitamin E etc.
You can increase intake of green leafy vegetables, andvitamin C 250 mg daily to prevent these spots.
