I went to the doctor the other day assuming I had a UTI.

Customer Question

I went to the doctor the other day assuming I had a UTI. However, my urine showed no growth of bacteria or anything, & I have no std's either. My doctor told me that sugar did show up in my urine culture, and she decided to draw some labs and have them sent out for testing which I won't know the answers to until next Friday. That same morning I went to have my urine tested, I did have a large sweet tea, and I tend to drink large amounts of soda. Could that be why sugar showed up in my urine or an i diabetic?

Hello
Urine sugar is not accurate, but any at all is suspicious.
It should not happen because you drink something sweet.
The blood tests will show if you are diabetic or pre diabetic.
OK, so that is an initial answer….

If I have no infection or anything, why does it still burn when I urinate?

If you are male, prostate infection or inflammation.
If female, more likely intersitial cystitis.
