Hello, this is Dr. David. I have read your question and I'm ready to help.
I am sorry you are having shortness of breath.
you should see your doctor
many issues can cause new shortness of breath
you could have new allergies in your lungs causing asthma
or you could have new heart weakness which can cause new shortness of breath.
new anemia or low red blood sugars can cause shortness of breath.
do you have a doctor you can see who can run some of these tests to check these issues to see why you might be short of breath?

Hi, the shortness of breath only occurs when I am playing tennis out doors.

I experience more sweating then I can remember. The only physical problem I have is an arthritic knee which does slow me down.

it could be from you being deconditioned.
are you just starting out playing tennis?
could you be deconditioned?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The outdoor tennis has been here in Virginia and mostly when it is hot outside i.e. 84-95. I played today and my mind was preoccupied with having water and ending the game. Can depression/anxiety cause the stamina problem?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
By deconditioned I guess you mean not in shape. I have been playing more tennis lately then working out which usually consists of lifting weights and use of low impact exercise bike for about 35 minutes.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No I have been playing tennis pretty regularly over this year. since June of 2014.
