Customer Question

I just started getting this consistent swishing sound in my ear, I kept thinking it was coming from outside but everyone else didn't hear anything. My left ear feels odd, maybe like a full ballon would feel? Also my heart is beating fast and within the last 7 hours, has done a weird skipping thing. I've never experienced this, especially with my ears.

Hi,
I understand your concern.
As per your description,It sounds as though you may have blocked eustachian tube or pulsating tinnitus.
Either way it does not sound like the symptoms of a tumour.
The eustachian tube is the one which connects the ear to the throat and it can easily become blocked if you have had a cold or nose or throat infection.
Tinnitus is usually associated with ringing in the ear but can in fact often be a swishing noise which often pulsates.
Your blood pressure should be monitored.
Also an ear examination by an ENT specialist should be done.
You should take OTC Advil and Cetirizine.
Nasal decongestant can be tried.
Also try Valsalva maneuver.
You should take proper rest.
Elevate your head while sleeping.
If have fast heart rate with dizziness, high blood pressure, chest pain then visit ER.
