Hello, this is Dr. David. I have read your question and I'm ready to help.
ALT normal range is between 10-40
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003473.htm
ALT of 59 is slightly elevated and can be due to cholesterol medications or alcohol use or a small gall stone passing or hepatitis viral infection of the liver
do you drink alcohol?
how old are you?
are you on medications?
you might need more testing like a liver ultrasound to get more information on your liver.
