Customer Question

I need some medical advice. My roommate and I are sick with what he think may be a cold. We have been coughing a lot, and sneezing and a terrible sore throat. Also our energy is low. But what is strange is that we don't have a fever and still have appetite.
We are drinking a lot of fluids and taking Tylenol. We would like to know what else we can do to help us get through this?

I am Dr. Abid a Medical Internist and will help you out.
Most of the viral infections present with no fever or only mild fever , as both of you have same symptoms so it is highly likely that you have flu .
In addition to measure that you mentioned saline gargles , steam inhalation , hot fluids like coffee , soups are soothing , last but not least use face mask while going outside because air , allergens , dust can aggravate symptoms .
It usually takes 5-7 days and in some cases 2 weeks to recover from flu .
Regards ***** ***** luck .
Please leave positive feedback for me .
Thanks .
