Customer Question

I have a history of MRSA that started during the healing of a surgery site. Have been healed for over 6 months.
Now recently developed an ear infection which did not heal with normal antibiotic pills or drops. The ENT took a swab test and it came back positive for MRSA. She feels that I may benefit from decolonization. She has referred me to a Infectious Disease Specialist. My question is: What is decolonization? What is involved? She said this would rid my entire body of MRSA.

Yes, I absolutely agree with this.
This is a very good idea by the ENT.
Here is the protocol for decolonization

basically you take baths in a chemical called chlorhexidine or dilute bleach and also put an antibiotic up your nose for a few days.
It is a good idea as you will get recurrent MRSA infections without it
