No, salmonella is not known to cause bruising.
Bruising would occur in the setting of severe infection or platelet function or coagulation factor depletion or dysfunction.
I would keep an eye on it. It is possible that you knocked your arm and didn't know it.
That being said, if you have any more bruising in the next 24-48 hours, or if you have any symptoms of weakness, chills fever or other concerning symptoms, go to the ER right away.
Otherwise you can follow up with your doctor in the next few days for a recheck
