It seems like your employee has got viral infection of the intestines causing diarrhea.
Diarrhea can cause severe dehydration due to the loss of fluid and electroyltes.
This can cause drop in blood pressure causing dizziness, cold clammy hands.
She should drink plenty of fluids especially oral rehydration solution containing sodium chloride, potassium, magnesium, calcium.
So what is the recommended treatment?
If there is no blood in the stool that is reassuring --likely not a bacterial or parasitiic infection.
Lot of oral fluids as tolrated.
Bland diet like bananas, toast, rice, soup.
Watch out for any fever or drop in body temperature below 96 F
In that case, antibiotic will be required for probable bacterial infection.
Otherwise, viral infection will get better over time.
To stop the diarrhea, loperamide tablets can be used as needed basis ( maximum 16 mg in a day).
Please see the GP if symptoms do not improve by tomorrow.
