my muscles have been hurting for aprox 2 months. sometimes its in my shoulders and chest area and then sometimes its in my clavical region. I work aprox 12 hours a day. I am a nurse practitioner. I have tested for mono and some general blood work. I just am confused as to what this might be. Sometimes the pain is severe. I keep thinking it will go away but it doesn't. I am starting to get concerned.
Hello

I am Dr. Thomas, double board certified physician with over 20 years of clinical experience. I will help you with your question and any follow up questions you have.

This needs a work up by a rheumatologist.

I would do
ANA panel
Sed rate
CPK

Polymyalgia rheumatica is one possibility.
Myositis is another.

See an internist that does a lot of rheumatology or see the sub specialist.

If all tests are negative, fibromyalgia needs to be considered.

ANA and RF were negative. CPK was normal and Sed rate only slightly elevated. In house mono spot was negative. We have redrawn CBC LFT's EBV and CMV also repeating Sed rate. Should have results tomorrow. Should i be worried about cancer etc?

No
No indication of cancer.

Looking more like fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue spectrum, or polymyalgia, which can have all normal labs.
