This is Dr. D.J., experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.
Yes that is very much possible.
Celiac disease can cause stomach symptoms.
There is also a possibility of viral infection.
Epstein barr virus is one suchexample.
The symptoms may persist for several weeks.
Ok. My real fear is that this might be multiple myeloma. Is that possible? Likely?
However, elevated gliadin antibody does require further evaluation with an endoscopy.
no it is not possible.
Albumin is not a sign of MM.
Is the Gliadin Iga the same as the protein Iga?
If your albumin was low and the globuin level high then maybe a consideration would have been given.
no --this is specific antibody against gluten
So I was reading on the internet (I know not smart to do) that high Iga can be a sign of MM. So is the Glidian Iga not the same thing? I didn't understand.
no this is not the same thing.
Gliadin is an antigen specifically found in the wheat.
IgA antibodies are directed against that by body.
Your whole IgA level is not elevated and that is not a sign of MM by the way.
So by having a high Gliadin IgA that doesn't mean a high Iga? Correct?
Last thing. Just to soothe a hypochondriac, from what I told you, I should be worried about MM from these tests?
not at all.
these tests did not even look for MM.
Great! Thanks my friend, you made my weekend. Have a great night.
they are specific for celiac disease only.
