A single large poly can be cancerous in some cases.
Given your age and family history the tisk may be between 1 to 10%.
Please remember not all polyps are cancerous.
So, the risk of cancer although slightly increased, is still considered low since you do not have any other polyps.
Actually they also found ten polyps size 3mm and 5 mm in the rectum, a 6mm in the hepatic flexure, a 6 mm in the splenic flexure and a 6mm in the ascending colon. All of them were removed except the sessile

Ok that changes the risk factor a bit.
This is also known as polyposis syndrome --a precancerous condition.
In this case, your risk increases to 20-30%.
Biopsy result is important to follow.
How long would it take to get the biopsy done?. I have not been able to talk to my doctor about this
usually 10-14 days
