I have a high blood pressure in combination with low heart rate is this unhealthy?

Dr. Rick, MD :

Hi. Dr Rick here. I completed an Internal medicine internship in NYC and have two decades of clinical experience. How can I assist you today?

Dr. Rick, MD :

Not as long as your high blood pressure is controlled.

Dr. Rick, MD :

Just make sure to take your BP medicine as directed.

Customer:

oo i dont use high bloodpressure pills

Customer:

my bloodpressure right now is 147/85 and a heart rate of 55

Customer:

meassured with a electronic blood pressure machine

Dr. Rick, MD :

With a BP in that range you should visit your doctor and consider going on medication. That being said, sometimes loosing weight and exercising can lower your BP without meds, but it has to be a significant percentage of body weight loss.

Dr. Rick, MD :

Those are accurate.

Dr. Rick, MD :

55 is perfectly normal for a heart rate.

Customer:

i meassured it with my sweater on

Customer:

i shall try it whitout

Dr. Rick, MD :

ok

Customer:

oo now it is 130/73

Customer:

with a heart rate of 57

Dr. Rick, MD :

ok. That not bad at all.

Customer:

but my heart rate can get up to 34 while i'm sleepng

Dr. Rick, MD :

you should get a notebook and record your BP at various times during the day, always being sure to relax for a few moments before taking your BP. On your next visit bring these data to your MD for her review.

Dr. Rick, MD :

Yes, You and I have discussed your heart rate when sleeping......

Dr. Rick, MD :

Does this make sense to you?

Customer:

ok i will do that!

Dr. Rick, MD :

Great! Have a good day.

Dr. Rick, MD :

I hope this information was helpful for you. But I do work for tips so I want to make sure you are happy with me before rating me.
