Prior to Dec 2011 - My blood work as of May 2010 shows everything completely normal.
Feb - Tested for STDS - entire panel negative including HIV
April 2012 - First CBC blood panel shows platelets low for the first time ever, 132,000.
June - August 2012 - experienced increasing anxiety and several bouts of brain fog while working out.
Dec 2012 - Got what appeared to be a sinus infection.
Jan 2013 - Went to a Wal-Greens Minute Clinic for supposed sinus infection and nurse prescribed me a Z-pack course of
Late Jan 2013 - Came back to Minute Clinic because antibiotics didn't seem to fully resolve supposed sinus infection. Put me on 14 day cycle of amoxicillin.
Feb 2013 - Experienced a patch type rash on both left and right shoulder, some white canker type sores in mouth.
Late Feb/ March 2013 - Fatigue
begins, massive lethargy. I begin to juice and notice some improvement but still very exhausted regardless of amount of sleep, dietary changes, etc.
April 2013 - Go to get tested for syphilis on recommendation from Dermatologist based on history of rash - result is negative.
May 2013 - CBC done, platelets at 133,000.
June 2013 - Exhaustion continues, rapid weight loss (15 pounds in 4 weeks).
July 15 2013 - go to ER. platelets are 120,000.
Aug 22 2013 - ER visit and subsequent CT scan show enlarged spleen (15cm)
Sept 20 2013 - Hematologist runs EBV panel, antibodies
present for past infection. All other blood panels are clear.
From July 18th to now, I've been tested for autoimmune
disorders, cancer, blood disorders. I've had a CT scan of my brain, heart, and abdomen. Abdomen with contrast as well and the only thing that shows up is the enlarged spleen (15.36 CM at its longest point).
Recently, on Oct 24th 2013, was admitted to hospital with fever, enlarged tonsils
, sore throat with small white spots, headache, light sensitivity, and enlarged lymph nodes in neck. During hospital stay, platelets dropped to 81,000. Mono spot test was negative, CMV test negative, EBV panel showed past infection as before. I should also mention I've been experiencing brain fog through out of all of this ordeal.
Could this entire last 23 months have happened because of EBV?! I do need to mention that I drank and partied heavily through 2012 and up to May of 2013. I have not drank any alcohol since and have been living stress free as possible trying to recover.
