I have swelling in the back of my head and the left side of my neck - suspect it is lymph node swelling. It is painful to the touch and produces a dull ache. No fever but some light headedness. What do you think?

khagihara :

It could be viral infection because antibiotics don't work.

khagihara :

If it is viral infection, no medications can cure.

khagihara :

Pain medications would help your symptom.

Customer:

I've just started the antibiotics......my concern is that I have been having several surgeries for "insitu" skin cancers, one of which was melanoma.

khagihara :

Then your immune system would get rid of the virus.

Customer:

I want to rule out the skin cancer moving to the lymph.

khagihara :

Cancer doesn't cause pain.

khagihara :

It should be infection.

khagihara :

Continue to take the antibiotics and take pain medication.

Customer:

That's good to know. I will continue the antibiotics and see how that turns out.

khagihara :

Yes.

khagihara :

Any questions?

Customer:

Thanks.....this was very helpful and stress relieving.

khagihara :

You are welcome. Take care.
