Single dose flu vaccines do not contain mercury.
Also many multidose preparations do not contain mercury.
Only some multidose vaccines contain trace amounts of mercury in the form of thiomersal to prevent contamination of the vaccines.
even this years' shot?
Studies have shown, this small amount of mercury do not accumulate in the body and do not cause any serious side effects.
So, if you want to avoid mercury all together, use a single dose vial which is free of mercury.
So go ahead --tell your fried to get the flu shot --no worries.
