I have a painful sternum. Been this way for going on 2 weeks. Hurts to turn and sleep.
Hello
This can be an inflammation in the area where the ribs connect to the sternum.

Ibuprofen can help with this.

Physical therapy might help with this.

If I am correct, it can be a difficult condition to treat, and the earlier it is treated the better.

You should of course have an exam and EKG.

In the mean time, try hot and cold applications and alternate them.
Se which works the best.

Use ibuprofen.

Do not strain the area.

If symptoms get worse or you have new symptoms, go into the ER.

would this kinda make my whole chest hurt at times. to turn my head to the side or movement with my arms it hurts.

Yes it can.

It does sound musculoskeletal, and the best doctor to see in this case is a physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor.

That would be to designs a program based on structural exam.
