Is there any blood in the stool?
Also are you having much abdominal pain?
There are many causes of diarrhea. In broad categories there is infectious and non-infectious. Have you used any antibiotics recently?
Stomach feels pressure and bloating
No anti biotics
How frequently are the stools?
In terms of infectious causes of diarrhea the most common is viral, bacterial, then parasitic. Viral simply runs its course and does not need any treatment. Bacterial usually results in some visible blood and so does parasitic. One cause that is becoming increasingly more common is an infection called CDiff (Clostridium Difficile). This usually results in profuse watery diarrhea.
2-3 times an hour the stool is brown covered by a white or clear membrane
It sounds like these symptoms are different from your usual IBS symptoms. It may be simply a viral gastroeneritis or just a flare up of your IBS. However, I am concerned about a possible CDiff infection given your description.
What can I do about it?
You need to have stool testing done to make the diagnosis of CDiff. I would encourage you to seek care as soon as possible. Also try to stay hydrated the best you can with small sips of gatorade, juice, etc.
That being said it may turn out to simply be a regular viral gastroeneritis that simply needs to run it course. But it would be safer to have the stool studies done and find out for sure.
The treatment for Cdiff or for a bacterial infection is antibiotics that would need to be prescribed by a health care provider. The treatment for a viral gastroeneritis is just supportive care, meaning staying hydrated.
OK, if it does not improve within the next 36 hours I will visit my local physician
If your abdominal pain significantly worsens, or if you notice blood in your stool, or if you are unable to stay hydrated please seek care sooner rather than later.
Or if you develop a fever
Do you have any other questions/concerns for me? If not please leave feedback and close the question. Thanks.
