Dr. Natasha :

hi

Dr. Natasha :

did you have anything to eat or drink recently

Customer:

I have been drinking some water here and there .. and had a bit to eat

Dr. Natasha :

what did you have prior to that?

Customer:

water, and lunch . but no breakfast

Dr. Natasha :

well, usually flushing like this is from stress, a histamine release from food or alcohol or another substance

Customer:

I am hypothyroid and also breastfeed

Dr. Natasha :

You can take some oral benadryl

Dr. Natasha :

this will make it go away

Dr. Natasha :

it is safe with BF

Customer:

how long does it usually last?

Customer:

my ears feel like they are on fire.. well mainly the left one .. my cheeks as well.. highly annoying =-)

Dr. Natasha :

if you take the benadryl about 15 more minutes

Dr. Natasha :

if you don't, may be a few more hours

Customer:

thought blood pressure... althought I never have bp issues.. but my bp is 113/78

Customer:

i haven't eaten anything unusual for a reaction... does this just happen randomly?

Dr. Natasha :

that blood pressure is perfect

Dr. Natasha :

you also may be a little stressed out

Dr. Natasha :

sometime fish can cause this, but sometimes this is stress, as I said.

Dr. Natasha :

this is not a harbinger of something seroius

Customer:

i wondered if it could be associated with my thyroid issue...

Dr. Natasha :

no, not unless you are hyperthyroid, and you would have other symptoms- fast heart rate

Customer:

i am hypo

Dr. Natasha :

that is what I am saying

Dr. Natasha :

you woudl not have it since you are hypo

Customer:

besides benedryl is there anything else i can do

Dr. Natasha :

claritin

Customer:

the heat sensation was so intense , it was confusing...

Customer:

but thank you for your response..

Customer:

glad to know it isn't something crazy... thought early menopause hahah

Dr. Natasha :

Dr. Natasha :

You will feel better
